Hunkemöller is looking for a Health and Safety Officer (m/f) who plays a key role in realizing the best possible working conditions for our employees. You are an expert in the field of the Working Conditions Act and you know how to put this into practice. You have the ability to work independently and you are able to take an independent position within our organization and provide solicited and unsolicited advice.

You are part of the emergency response team (BHV) and you will work on preventive measures to avoid accidents at work as much as possible. You look for opportunities to optimize working conditions and make sure employees know where they can find the right information to do their job in a safe way. This also means you take care of the right documents and forms to support our colleagues where possible!

As part of your responsibilities you will be the Prevention Officer for Hunkemöller in the Netherlands. You will inform  the Works Council when needed on working conditions topics.


You have three statutory tasks as a prevention officer, which are laid down in the Working Conditions Act, article 13 (7), which you are familiar with:

  • Take ownership in creating the best possible working conditions (via the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E)
  • Advice and work closely with the occupational health provider and the Works Council about the measures that have to be taken to ensure a policy for great working conditions
  • The (co)implementation of health and safety work measures

Beside the above mentioned legal tasks, you also take on the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare the company emergency response plan and keep it up-to-date. You also organize and evaluate (evacuation) exercises and inspection rounds
  • Take care of the administrative process after an emergency (possibly in collaboration with external parties)
  • Develop and implement a plan of action based on the RI&E
  • Carry out workplace research and advise on ergonomically responsible working
  • Solicited and unsolicited advice regarding work safety and working climate
  • Creating a bridge between Hunkemöller as employer and our employees and you ensure that attention is paid to the risks described in the RI&E
  • Evaluate and update existing policies, documents and provide internal communications
  • Register labor accidents and take the correct next steps
  • Educate colleagues regarding prevention and safety in work
  • Liaise with the Fun, Vital and Happy team with the aim of improving health at work

Our ideal candidate:

  • Higher vocational education (HBO) in a relevant study
  • Preferable an MVK or HVK diploma
  • At least three years of experience in a similar position
  • You have great communication skills and professional sensitivity
  • Excellent/native level Dutch and good English language skills
  • You're pragmatic, an analytical thinker, work systematic and you are result-driven
  • You're capable of prioritizing and working with details. You love to create overview, driving and implementing changes with extensive financial awareness
