HR Manager Scandinavia

At Hunkemöller we believe great people power great brands. So, we’re looking for an exceptional HR Manager (m/f) who can really get to grips with all the people matters for Scandinavia. At the moment, this means Denmark, Sweden & Norway, where we continue to open new stores with a rapid expansion rate. This exciting opportunity is based in the Copenhagen area and if you’re the right fit for us, you’ll find yourself working as part of our dynamic international HR team. This is the perfect role for an experienced HR Manager who has a really hands-on attitude, who loves getting involved in the day-to-day running of a complex and busy HR department. Together with your passionate HR team (2 HR Advisors and 1 trainee), you’ll manage recruitment and will work to improve the knowledge and capabilities of the HR and sales teams across 3 countries, each with their own language and labour agreements. Taking responsibility for improving the current ways of working, you’ll also look for new ways to create change for our people, systems and processes.  We’re pride ourselves on delivering World Class Service and you’ll lead by example when dealing with your Regional and Store Managers.

Our perfect candidate is a successful HR Manager with experience in a complex and fast-paced, multi-site environment in either the retail or service industry. Ideally, you’ll have worked within an international organisation and will have managed lots of different stakeholders, tasks and priorities whilst maintaining a hands-on mentality.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with HR Advisors, the Director of Retail and Regional Managers to find more efficient ways of working in an increasingly complex market. This is vital as we expand rapidly in Sweden and Norway.
  • Creating a great place to work whilst being focused on delivering World Class Service to our customers and real results.
  • Creating a culture that shies away from ‘traditional HR practices’ and is focused on improving customer service, building our brand as an employer and developing our network of brand ambassadors.
  • Ensuring our potential employees are a perfect fit for us with the right attitude and motivation to work for Hunkemöller whilst building our brand as an employer.
  • Working with the HR Advisors to make sure our vacancies are filled on time by candidates that have great experience and are perfect for our brand. You’ll be constantly looking at ways for us to find the best candidates, as quickly as possible.
  • Within the HR systems landscape, several new (global) systems have been implemented over the past 2 years (Workday, payroll interfaces etc). Your main challenge would be to further work on a smooth transition between old and new.
  • Working closely with the Global HR Director on a variety of local and international projects whilst remaining focused on our commitment to being a truly social business.
  • Being the expert on the local labour market and legal/remuneration issues for your countries. Acting to interpret, advise and integrate these into our practices;
  • Working with the Global HR Director to manage the relationship between the work councils and Hunkemöller.

Our perfect HR Manager needs to be a Hunkemöller brand ambassador & fan who…

  • Ideally has 5-10 years’ experience as a HR Manager in a multi-site business. International experience is a definite ‘plus’
  • Has a minimum of a Bachelor degree, preferably HR related.
  • A real team player and influencer with an energetic positive outlook on life, who can drive change and be an inspirational leader.
  • Is fast-paced, structured, determined, persuasive and great communicator.
  • Is pro-active and works well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is fluent in English and fluent (close to native) in either Swedish, Danish or Norwegian
  • Has experience in retail, hospitality or another service industry and is customer focused.
  • Can deal with deadlines, targets and multiple priorities.
  • Has no problem travelling to the International HQ in Hilversum or any other country to join meetings.
  • Has experience in implementing an HR system, Payroll system or time management system, ideally Workday.
